It’s that time again to talk bodyweight training for more strength and muscle.
You know one of the things that really baffles me is the lack of people that utilize all the local playgrounds we have available for us to use FOR FREE to get stronger, leaner, and just plain more badass.
I’ve heard people bitch about how expensive a certain training program is or how they can’t pay for a gym membership…
That’s all BS!
People have a FREE pass for one of the most kickass gyms around – your local playgrounds!
I guess you got to be a little nutty to go out and train on your own at a playground. But if you really want it bad, and you’re willing to do anything it takes – get out and make it happen!
I’ve hit this spot up before with my boy Joe, where we really tore the bodyweight training up good.
I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I remember it being a ton more hot than it was on this day though! It was a little chilly and rainy on this day.
So for this Hardcore Hundred, I decided to go real old school and hit the four basic movements of bodyweight – Pulling, Pushing, Squatting, and Lunging.
I kept it real basic and to the point. I don’t want to go confusing too many people out there now…
Just hit 100 reps of each as fast as you can. Get in high quality reps and drill each of the movements with different variations.
My original plan was to hit 4 rounds of 25 reps per movement. But, I got blasted quick so had to cut the reps back a bit to focus on hitting solid reps.
I did a variety of push ups, rows, pull ups, some dips, squat jumps, lunges, lunges jumps, and some prisoner squats. All solid movements.
It was a great bodyweight training session that supplied a whole lot of challenge….

I was getting smoked in the end.
What’s so great about this hardcore hundred is that you could easily do this next week at a different location and your workout would be totally different.
I like to find different playgrounds that have different pieces of unique equipment to use for all your different movements. You’re only limited by your imagination.
Make sure to get out and get BUSY on a bodyweight training session like this one to start gaining more muscle quick.
Question for you: What type of workouts have you hit at the local playgrounds? Would like to hear your comments below!
