One of my favorite odd-object strength tools has got to be the atlas stone.atlasstone

I LOVE training with these things.

While the stones I’ve got aren’t extremely heavy, they’re still a bitch to lift.

My small stone which is 176 lbs feel like it’s well over 200 lbs and my heavier stone which is a hefty 243 lbs seems like it’s over 300 bills!

It’s the oddness of these stones that makes them so challenging plus gets you so freaking strong when you train with them.

Below I’ve got a sample workout of how I used my stone then below that I’ve got a technique video on stone loading so if you decide to give it a go, you know how to do it right.

As for the sample training session I got for you, what I did was a little density strength / power set up where I did one stone shouldering rep every 20 seconds for 10 total minutes.

Might not seem too hard but trust me, it gets to be a challenge.

It’s important to point out that the focus with that type of set up is on QUALITY reps, not fatigue or endurance.  Those will become factors, but are NOT the main focus.

Here we go:

And here’s the technique video for you as well:

To training 110% H.A.M.
