Something I don’t see a lot of people doing within their training program is “weighted conditioning”

In other words I don’t see a ton of people doing things like pushing around heavy-ass sleds, carrying around heavy-ass weights on their backs or in front of their chest, or in their hands.

Weighted Cardio or what I like to call, “Strength / Cardio” I feel is one of the most powerful of ways to help build more strength and conditioning all at once.

It’s a simple concept, but not always that easy to do.

Choose a few different types of weighted conditioning movements and blend them in with a few cardio / bodyweight type of movements and you’re set.

The results you’ll see are amazing.

Just note that this type of training isn’t for the faint of heart.

As I mentioned above, it’s a simple concept, but it’s hard-ass work.

It can get TOUGH…

I’ll give you a quick highlight of the Strength/Cardio circuit I did:

[embedplusvideo height=”365″ width=”500″ editlink=”http://bit.ly/1akvclV” standard=”http://www.youtube.com/v/02sKsGBrd3I?fs=1″ vars=”ytid=02sKsGBrd3I&width=500&height=365&start=&stop=&rs=w&hd=0&autoplay=0&react=1&chapters=&notes=” id=”ep2746″ /]

I did 3 Rounds Of:

1A) Yoke Walk x 50ft1B) GHD Sit Ups x 25
1C) Chambered Bar Zercher Carry x 50ft
1D) Heavy Sled Push x 50ft

I’d take a few secs between movements to catch my breath, but overall I pushed the pace to get through the circuit as fast as I could.

I’d rest a good 2 minutes between sets.

Great way to end out a session!

Now, I bet you might be saying, “Travis, I don’t have a damn yoke, chambered squat bar, GHD, or sled!  I can’t do this!”

Not so damn fast my friend…

If you don’t have the equipment, NEVER give up so damn easy.

It never ceases to amaze me at just how quick some people are to QUIT when they don’t have a certain piece of equipment.

This is where the fun part comes into play…

It’s called, “To USE YOUR BRAIN and IMPROVISE!”

So, let’s say you don’t have any of the equipment I listed…

Instead of taking the easy way out and throwing in the towel, here’s what you could do instead:

1A) Heavy Barbell Walk x 50ft
1B) Toes To Bar or Knees To Bows x 25
1C) Heavy Barbell Zercher Carry OR Sandbag Zercher Carry x 50ft
1D) Heavy Tire Forward Drag OR Car/Truck Push x 50ft

There’s a TON of different ways you can work it, but the main thing about it is to find a way to get it done.

You’ll love the results this type of training adds in.
