Have you ever heard the saying “You Only Get Paid For Done”?

One of my mentors, Pat Rigsby uses this term a ton but I must say I first heard this saying from a fellow strength coach and
fitness pro Dax Moy when I was at a fitness convention.   Not sure who coined the term, but that very convention changed my life.

At the time, I was stuck at a large corporate gym where I was
beginning to hate my job because most of the people I was training
at the time sucked the energy right out of me.  They were negative,
had no real passion to get into better shape, and honestly, made me
hate my job!

If you know me by now, you know that I love training!  It’s my
life!  So when you hear me say that I hated my job, which at the
time was training people, you know it was probably pretty bad.

To make a long story short, I got out of there and started my own
gym, The Forged Athlete, along with my best friend Joe Chizek,
where now we train only the people we want to train that actually
have a passion to get into shape or compete in athletics.

If they don’t like to kick ass, we give them the boot!

Looking at where I’m at now, If it hadn’t been for me taking action and getting my butt up to New York to the conference where I heard the saying “You only get
paid for done”, I wouldn’t be here right now writing this blog
post for your eyes to see.  In fact, you probably wouldn’t even
know who I am and I would probably have some lame 9-5 job I absolutely
hated and would be in a far worse place.

But, luckily I’m not there but here!

So, what did that saying teach, how did it really resonate with me and why am I telling you about it?

Well it taught me a few things which I think YOU would greatly
benefit from.

Getting Paid For Done means…

1) There’s NEVER a right time to do anything

and

2) If you want it – simply get shit done!

So for the first one, let me tell you that if you’re waiting for
the “right” time to start something, it’s never ever going to happen.

Whether this be waiting to start a new workout, new diet, join a coaching
program, or waiting until you think it’s “the perfect”, the best time to start is NOW.  Later could be anytime or worse, NEVER.

There’s too many things that can happen in between NOW and LATER.
Most of the time, somethings going to happen to change what happens
at “LATER” and that’s why usually LATER never ends up happening.

So, the only solution to this is to start what ever it is your
thinking about NOW.  Don’t wait!  Go out and make it happen today!

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve spoken with about either
their training, nutrition, or changing up their lifestyle that say to me, “I
want to wait until this day” or “let’s hold off until this….”

Guess what, the saying, “The early bird catches the worm” is true!

Those who take action and ACT, make things happen!  ACTION causes
REACTION which causes RESULTS.

The true Go-Getter’s out there will always be a step ahead of the
pack.  These poeple will be the ones leading the world.  They will
have the strength, power, and lifestyle others dream about but
don’t have enough guts to go and and get it for themselves.

What type of person are YOU?

Will you “Get Paid For Done” or….

Will you “wait to get paid”???

What sounds better to you??
