I talk about the importance of having a strong and positive mindset a lot.

I talk about it a lot because it’s that important.

It can make or break you…

Ultimately, having the right positive mindset will make difference between you being a success or hitting utter failure.

I can remember when I was still wrestling how sometimes I would beat myself up mentally before a match had even begun.

My head would fill with negative self talk and I would start to think the worst.

Even though I had more skill, strength, and physical ability then my opponent, one thing was lacking…

Self Confidence.

This didn’t happen all the time, but I can remember a few times where it was my own mind set that held me back.

Since then and over the years,  I’ve learned the importance of harnessing self confidence to help ward off negative self talk to keep my mind on the positive trail.

Anytime a negative thought comes to my head I figure up a way to turn that around into a positive.

Fear used to control my mind, but over the years as I’ve learned how to change how my mindset works, I use fear as the driver to push me closer to my goals instead of driving me away.

Having a strong sense of self confidence is what splits the difference between a champion and a mediocre competitor.

If you can harness the power of your own self confidence, you will create SUPREME CONFIDENCE.

This will take you to your success!

Below I have a video that you must watch where Mike Tyson, one of the best boxers of all time, talks about the mindset he would have going into a big fight.

You’ll notice he talks about being afraid, having self doubt, be extremely anxious, and not knowing what was going to happen, but as soon as it got closer to his fight, his “SUPREME” level of confidence would take over…

Another line that got me absolutely pumped from this video is when Mike mentions how when he walks into the ring that he “feels like a God”…

This is the same mindset YOU must carry when you walk out on to the playing field, enter onto that mat, step into the gym, or do whatever it is you do.

This is having SUPREME CONFIDENCE.

Knowing that when you do what you do there is risk involved and a chance of failure, but YOU have control.

Definitely some things to think about…

Let me hear your thoughts and comments on this.  I would really like to hear about how you deal with fear, self confidence, FOCUS and issues with negative self talk.

Do YOU let it control you?  Or do you control it?
