So it’s almost that time of year!
Where you get together with friends and family. You know, all the people you LOVE!
But of course, it’s also that time of year where you have to be nice to all the people you would rather not see.
You know the people I’m talking about…. The people back in high school you never really talked to and now since it’s Christmas and your back in town… you know what I mean…
Anyways, it’s also the time of year where you can ask for some SERIOUSLY BADASS GIFTS!
BUT, you better be GIVING presents first!

So, for the next 12 days, I’m going to be doing my version of “The 12 Days of Christmas”.
I’m putting my little spin on things and I’m calling my 12 Days of Christmas, the “12 Days Of Strength and Badassness Christmas”!
For the next 12 days I’ll be covering 12 different topics on present ideas that you should truly consider to help you build strength, muscle, and power!
So for the first day, I’m covering the TRX Suspension Training System.
In my eyes, this is by far one of the most essential tools around!
It’s a “gym in a bag”! Literally…
I’m a HUGE supporter of the TRX. It’s one of the very first pieces of equipment I invested in back when I first started training clients.
I remember the strange looks I would get at the corporate gym I used to work at when I would hook this bad boy up to the pull up bar or cable station.
Now the big box gyms have caught on and have TRX Training stations in them. Finally the “globo gym” do something right….
But anyways, I want to share the 5 reasons why you need to get a TRX and have it in your strength and conditioning arsenal.
1) The TRX eliminates ALL EXCUSES
The BEST thing about a TRX is that you can take it ANYWHERE with you to train. I took mine to Brazil the first time I went because I knew I wouldn’t have access to a gym. I got in some crazy workouts!
2) The TRX with take your Bodyweight Strength to NEW Levels
The TRX is great at giving you literally thousands of ways to increase your intensity with simple bodyweight movements.
Push ups, lunges, rows, and pull ups are a few of the many movements I like to use the TRX for to help increase the intensity on.
3) The TRX Trains your CORE to the MAX
Suspended core training is by far one of the best ways to train your abs.
Doing different suspended core movements such as knee tucks, pikes, and side to side swings are super challenging.
I love throwing these movements in at the end of a training session to really crank things up!
4) TRX Circuit Training is The BOMB
I love creating circuits that include the TRX. It’s a great way to blend kettlebells with bodyweight or any other tool for that matter.
It gives you a ton more variety and increases the effectiveness of the circuit.
5) TRX is a great tool for PROGRESSING movements
We already know we can INCREASE intensity, but what about helping DECREASE intensity…
Well, what if you Can’t do a Handstand Push Up?
What about a real Pull Up?
Well the TRX can definitely help you out by easily giving you ways to properly progress these movements.
I still use it today to help me with my pistols squats. I’m getting much stronger with this movement and a lot of the credit, I can give to the TRX for allowing me to break the movement up into easier progressions.
So there you go! 5 reasons why you NEED a TRX in your arsenal!
Another reason the TRX kicks ass…
It’s HIGHLY AFFORDABLE… in fact I can’t think of another piece of training equipment that allows you to do so many different exercises for so little money.
I would be asking Santa for one!
