Essential Hardcore Movement Series – The Clean and Press

The clean and press is such a great movement.  It combines power, strength, speed, and conditioning depending on how you perform it.

The clean and press can be done with tons of different implements and objects which I’ll go later in the post with a nice compilation of clean and presses on video.

The clean and press should be included in any person’s training regimen for the clear fact that it’s a bad ass move that will turn anyone into a complete beast if you do it enough!

You work power when you rip the weight off the floor and strength when you press it overhead.  Do it for low reps to work more strength and power OR do it for high reps or even timed sets to work conditioning.  You really can’t lose with this movement!

I personally didn’t start doing clean and presses until my senior year of college.  This is VERY sad but, I just didn’t know any better.  To think of the strength, power, and conditioning levels I could have had if I had only been implementing this movements into my training sessions…

Well, now I know and I surely get my clean and pressing in on a regular basis!   As should YOU!

Another great thing about The Clean and Press is the fact that you’ll NEVER get bored doing them!

You can use so many different objects and tools to perform the movements!

I actually encourage that you use as many different things as possible to do The Clean and Press with.

Things such as…

  • Rocks and stones
  • Barbells
  • Sandbags
  • Dumb Bells
  • Kettlebells
  • Kegs
  • Logs
  • Med Balls
  • Other People!

Also, you don’t always have to use two hands!  You can also do The Clean and Press single arm!
