It’s almost been 2 years now that I was actually thinking to myself about giving up on being a strength and conditioning coach and leaving the fitness industry.

I used to train at a large corporate gym where I hated just about every minute being there.  I was surrounded by snake like salesmen and negative gym members that had no interests in training hard and intense.

I was consistently ordered around to train people that had no interest in training.

On top of that, I had to listen to music that I absolutely HATED!

It got to the point to where I was about to throw in the towel and sign up for the Marines when my best friend and I decided to roll out to Zach Even-Esh’s Underground Strength Gym in Edison, New Jersey.

Little did I know, that very trip would change my whole career as a strength coach forever….

When I got back, Joe and I hit the ground running at 150 mph.  We hustled our ass’ off to gather equipment and search for a spot we could call “home”.

After a few months, we together found a spot that we could call my own “underground strength gym”.

After months of searching and busting our ass’ to make a way to have our own HARDCORE gym work, Joe and I finally found our spot!

On August 1st, 2009, The Forged Athlete Gym was born!

Since that day I’ve been training who I want, when I want, and most importantly, HOW I want…

HARDCORE!

Since opening my own gym along side my brother from another mother, Joe Chizek, I’ve changed the way I approach training.

Everything is focused in on being ATHLETIC, HARDCORE, and extremely AGGRESSIVE!

In that time I’ve also created these weekly workout challenges called, Hardcore Hundred’s.

The responses I’ve received from people around the world has been phenomenal and very inspirational, hence why I will always have a new HARDCORE HUNDRED workout each and every week no matter what!

If you’re reading this right now and have been following me for some time, I know you understand me!

This weeks Hardcore Hundred is dedicated to The UNDERGROUND STRENGTH GYM and Zach Even-Esh.

If it wasn’t for the trip Joe and I had taken about 2 years ago, I can guarantee there wouldn’t be any Hardcore Hundred Workout’s coming from me.

I would probably be in the military right now serving our country.  Which isn’t a bad thing but I belong where I am now!  At The Forged Athlete, training serious Mo Fo’s each and every day!

So, THANK YOU Zach Even Esh and The Underground Strength Gym for INSPIRING me to be the coach I am today!

25 wall walks up and down
25 dip bar knee tucks
25 rope pull ups
25 burpee broad jumps over barrier

These are all movements I can remember doing during my first ever workout at the Underground Strength Gym!
